Where can I earn cashback?
From 7 April 2025, you can earn 1% cashback – up to £15 a month – when you use your debit card in the UK and Channel Islands to pay for some of your essentials, including groceries, everyday transport, fuel and electric charging points1.
- You can pay online or in-store, using your physical debit card or contactless
- You won't earn cashback on purchases you make outside the UK or the Channel Islands, or if you pay in currencies other than GBP
Here are some examples of where you can earn cashback.

How we work out what's eligible for cashback
Merchants are given a specific code based on the type of things they sell. This is called a Merchant Category Code (MCC). We don't assign or decide a merchant's MCC – but we use their code to work out whether you can earn cashback on a purchase. Just so you know – sometimes purchases might seem eligible for cashback, but aren't because of their MCC.
1. Exceptions apply. Qualification criteria and T&Cs may apply. May be changed or withdrawn. You'll find more details about your cashback offer in the Chase app – go to the 'Spend' tab, tap 'Rewards' and select your cashback offer.
